Pupils are admitted to the junior section at the age of 4+ years of age . Junior school comprises of classes KG-V. The academic year which extends from April to March of the following year is divided into two broad sessions and the evaluation of a child’s progress is a comprehensive and continuous one. Reporting assesses the pupil’s development of skills as well as knowledge. Equal emphasis is laid on the mental, social and emotional growth of our wards . Activity –based learning is preferred in the junior section and formation of attitudes, skills and concepts is favoured over rote-learning. Values are inculcated during assembly and in the class-rooms and effort, good habits and good manners are rewarded along with excellence . The curriculum and text- books are reviewed and revised frequently, in keeping with the latest trends of primary education and learning strategies are planned keeping both the gifted and the slow-learner in mind. Remedial classes are an ongoing process in the junior section - this helps the slow , the tardy and the indolent . Steps are taken to ensure that each child reaches his potential in a free and friendly environment . A school counsellor provides guidelines to pupils and parents on ways of overcoming learning disabilities. TAL OR Technology – Aided-Learning has been successfully integrated into the school curriculum and the use of multimedia helps the child to go beyond the confines of the class-room . Well-equipped science, maths and computer labs enhance the joy of discovery in the children.

Our teachers attend a plethora of workshops and refresher courses to refurbish their skills and reinvent themselves in order to cater to the needs of the new age pupil. The teaching-learning tools and methodology that find implementation in the junior school all contribute towards developing critical, creative, co-operative and caring thinking in our pupils.
