 It
gives me great pleasure to inform you about some of the proactive
measures taken by our management to ensure that Birla High School
gives its students the best overall education in the most congenial
and healthy environment.
Over the years we have been reducing student strength so that
the classrooms are of a size in which students get individual
attention from the teachers. The present student strength of
the boys campus is 2505. Our endeavour is to keep student strength
to a maximum of 35 per class.
While our academic results speak for themselves, the overall
quality of the teaching staff has been further enhanced by numerous
and well designed teacher training workshops in the last couple
of years. In addition all new recruitment of teachers is done
under strict scrutiny giving closer attention to overall quality.
While teachers' wards study at subsidised fee, meritorious students
are awarded scholarships & freeships.
As you are all aware we have specialized and qualified professional
Counsellors available at every level for the guidance of the
students. A special initiative was taken to hold parents’
workshops to enable better parenting leading to better student/teacher/guardian
relationship. This has ensured a smooth passage in the admission/promotion
process.
Our school being one of the oldest and most prestigious CBSE
schools in the city, the buildings of the school are now being
regularly renovated and upgraded to modern standards.
Technology aided learning is an integral part of the junior
school curriculum. Regular powerpoint presentations are made
by teachers and students and this helps in clarifying concepts
and promoting cooperative learning. A well-equipped computer
lab and mobile computers have helped knowledge to go beyond
the confines of the class room. As a matter of fact we maintain
a high level of computerization.
For the security and safety of the students an effective fighting
system has been installed with a large underground water tank
with smoke detectors. Experts have been invited to guide the
students and management in learning appropriate emergency processes.
To successfully service all the new facilities added in the
school a Transformer has been installed to ensure un-interrupted
power supply in keeping with our future plans.
All pedagogical and infrastructural changes were possible due
to the continuous efforts of the members of the School Managing
Committee, the Principals, Teachers, staff and the administrative
team at the Birla High School who have in response to the emerging
needs and co-operation of the guardians brought about this transformation
in the school .
I look forward to the combined support of all the stakeholders
to make Birla High School the best school in the 21st century.
